My Poem ‘Paper’

That look into each others eyes,
that ring on your fingers,
that look that keeps you hypnotized,
that symbol of unity that reminds you every day
that out of all the people taking part
in the contest of love and life
you two won the prize to be with each other forever.

Being with each other just feels so natural,
being with each other just feels meant to be,
being with each other every day
feels like you have discovered life’s pinnacle,
being with each other every day
is something no one else could possibly understand,
because you see things in one-another, about one-another,
that no one else could possibly see.

When you know someone as well as you two do
you would think that there is nothing else for you to learn
about each other,
how could anything possibly be new?
However, every day, no matter how long you have been together,
no matter how long you spend together,
you do see and discover an untold secret
that was just waiting for the right time
to show itself and come to light-
that is the most amazing and wonderful thing
about being in a relationship, being in love,
committing yourself to the well-being of each other,
and wanting to spend all and every hour of the day
sharing anything and everything
from the early hours of the morning
to the twilight hours of the night.

A life together is never easy,
but its meaning and its effect on you
and on your life can never be replicated;
a life apart is torture in comparison-
especially when you know for certain and without doubt
that you were both the reason that through everything
you have been through separately and together,
what happened needed to happen, and that is why life waited
to gift you your soul-mate, your life-partner,
the one who needs you in their life
as much as you need to be in theirs,
who scrambles all other frequencies
but the one you need to hear-
more so than a solar flare.

Being together means something greater;
being together means that no matter what happens
you two can be a light-house for each other through any weather;
being together, being one, is more than a name,
it is more than a signature on a dotted-line;
being together is something special,
and what that means is something
that you don’t have to think about
because it is there with you both,
and it is something that no matter how hard you try
you can’t put on a piece of paper.

My Poem ‘Forward’

I will hold your hand,
I will give you my smile,
I will hold you and love you forever in my heart,
I will give you my all,
I will give you the belief and the strength that you need
to master and to overcome any trial.
I will hold your gaze,
I will give you my love,
I will hold back the pain,
I will heal your scars and surround you
with that which you desire to see the clear path
when the road ahead can appear broken and rough.
I will be there for you to look to always,
I will be there with my arms open wide,
I will be there at the centre of life’s maze,
I will be there to make you want to open and close your eyes
with delight as I know and I feel that you will too for me-
we both know that no matter how far out to the sea of the world
we go our mind, heart, and soul, will always be tied.

When I look at you I see hope,
when I look at you I see the most beautiful person
to have ever been born,
when I look at you I see the gorgeous and wonderful gift
of perceiving and believing in infinite possibilities in me
that you awoke.
When I look at you I see the most special person
there will ever be, and the one, amazing, answer to the question:
do I have a soul-mate and someone who will be there for me,
like I would be there for them, that I have been asking
and searching my entire life for.

The world keeps turning;
the sun and the moon continue to rise and set;
our world, the star that sustains us
and keeps us orbiting one-another in perfect synchronicity
guides us to our dreams every night
and wakes us wide-eyed every morning.
I see only you in my sky,
I see only your beautiful face in every blink of my eyes,
I see only you the best in you,
I see only the one person in the entire world
that I feel constantly and know,
and who I have wished for in my life every day
leading up to the second that we first met.

When we first met I remember being unable to look away from you
and unable to stop myself from telling you everything;
when I see you now I open myself up just to feel and to hear
the beautiful melody of you-
like the unmistakable colour and chorus of the flowers
and song of spring.
When I am with you it is like listening to the amazing,
unique, incredible, original, sound of a song
ingrained into and played from the grooves of a vinyl record;
when I am with you I discover new sights and expanses of feeling
and meaning just waiting to be explored.
When I am with you I want you to know I am always
within touching-distance in some way,
that you can always reach out to me,
that you can see me in your minds-eye,
as I see you in mine when I,
when you look forward.

My Poem ‘Bond’

Meeting someone new is easy,
finding the one person to share and spend the rest of your life with is hard;
finding the peace to complete the puzzle of your life
is akin to finding sunken treasure on the bed of a turbulent sea;
meeting the person to whom you intend to marry is greater than destiny;
meeting your soul-mate is a fulfillment and a gift of the universe’ heart.

We feel so much for so many people in our lives,
but those bells of insight only chime for a short-time.
We say so much to so many people in brief interconnected moments,
but those words of meaning only truly speak
to a shared voice to our own that we knowingly seek.

Love is a trust that is not given lightly;
love is a faith that unifies all truth, thought, life, and identity.
Love is meant to be shared;
love is meant to be embraced, seen, shown, heard, felt, and followed
wherever its allure takes you-
to endless days of happiness,
to unforgettable nights gifted by a million stars,
to the meaning of life, fellowship-
where every moment is as indelible as a tattoo.

Making a commitment to the person who you love unquestionably,
who you adore, who you know as much about as you know about yourself,
is a treasure forever of limitless wealth;
making a vow to the person who completes you,
who you think about as an extension of your own spirit,
and who refracts the light of you like a diamond-
making such a promise is special, it is wonderful,
it is the most sacred, the most hopeful, the most beautiful,
and the most powerful of any bond.
