When I was a boy, and all throughout my teenage years,
I was an artist, an athlete, an adventurer,
who knew nothing about the world
other than to never be held back by my fears.
I used to run, cycle, explore, for hours at a time
through my homes countryside open-air-
racing down lanes and over fields,
as the winds of my childhood blew through my curly blond hair.

I remember a summer when my friends and I decided to build a time machine-
I told my friends that it would be easy:
“Doc Brown made one out of a car”,
and I described how easy that had been-
so we outfitted a go-cart with a modified sweet-box, some wires,
a watch, and a calculator- all to my exacting specifications;
and then my friends and I all took turns on our “time machine”,
each time travelling to a myriad of historic and futuristic destinations.

As an adult I have had this recurring thought and daydream for many years
of going back to my “blond hair days”,
sitting down on a bench with my younger self,
and simply talking to myself, and telling myself a story:
a tale of tears and sadness, but also one of energy, inspiration,
love, imagination, and cherished glory.
I would tell myself how one day the world is going to change,
but that everything is going to be alright;
and that magic is real, but it doesn’t always present itself
in colours of black and white.
I would tell myself to remember these times in my life,
because these are the days that I will return to often,
and which strengthen my worlds bonds.
What a time I had, what days they were,
when I was blond!

There are unbelievably beautiful people in this world that I have met online,
who I hope and pray that I will one day have the chance
and the gift to meet,
friends that I have made all over the world, who inspire me,
who move me, who brighten my entire week with a single tweet-
@SaraChelle82 is one of the best friends that I have made on the web,
and she is also an incredible and inspirational person in her own right-
Sara’s love of family, friends, music,
her unlimited resource of hopefulness is infectious,
and, like Sara herself, is wonderful to behold and an absolute delight.

Sara and I share a love of the music
of one of the most phenomenal and inspiring musicians
to have ever walked the face of the Earth-
to Sara and I, BT is the most epic artist of electronic music
there has ever been, or will ever be-
who, from our perspective, creates and generates an energy
with his music that takes his fans to a state of harmonic rebirth.
Because of BT, I am blessed to have people in my life
who are so awesome, so talented, so overflowing with the best of humanity,
and Sara is all of those things and more:
a great friend, a wonderful wife, and mother to a glorious family.

Happy Birthday, Sara!
I know that I am not alone when I say
that you bring so much joy, love, and light,
into the lives of all who know you!
You are a diamond, a treasure,
a precious jewel the like of which
there is nothing else on Earth more rarer!
You are the best! BT’s most awesome and ultimate Super-fan!
My friend, who has the future right in front of her!
Happy Birthday, Sara!

There are moments in our lives that feel like our entire life
has been waiting for them to come to pass,
moments that defy description, explanation, contemplation, and time,
that mean so much to us there message is as clear as glass.

Moments that visit us to deliver a direction, a feeling,
an insight of light to guide our way to our hour of attainment and growth,
that strike at the bell that first tolled at our birth,
that will ring again for the last time at our final moment,
that connects and bounds both.

There are times in our lives
when we feel like all the answers to every question we have ever posed
are right in front of us and ready for our time and understanding;
times that take us to the limit of our experience and knowledge,
which then ask of us to feel and imagine
the entire universe in a single moment,
and then watch it expanding.
Times that fill our minds with visions of truth,
voices from our lives, feelings of happiness, pangs of pain,
that call upon you to accept the choices of others that have impacted on you,
and to stand-tall against the downpour of destiny’s rain.

There are times in our lives when we are looking at ourselves in a mirror
and the only reflection we see is the one we wish we had seen
when we were a child-
a portal to the future that shows us at a moment of openness, clarity;
happy, content, beguiled.

There are moments in our lives that change everything about us,
that rocket us into orbit around our world
and show it to us at it’s most sublime.
I live for those moments that show me what awaits me;
and right this instant, I think that it’s time.

Stars live and stars die
every second in the night-sky
without anyone even blinking an eye;
friendships are made, relationships end, hearts are broken,
every hour of every day- rain or shine,
the constellations of your life change all around you
until there pattern reforms into a brand new design.

One day you are walking down the high-street of your local town
admiring the architecture of the buildings
and smiling gleefully at the amount of joy in the air,
and the next day you are walking down the same street
as buildings burn, people cry, and shop owners look on in horror
as their livelihood crumbles before their eyes,
and they can do nothing but stare.

We all live and are all in a relationship with one another,
no matter our location, language, or life-story-
what we do impacts all; each one of us are elements, experiments,
interactions, and reactions, in a sphere-shaped, chaotic,
constantly-changing and evolving laboratory.

Nothing in life can live alone, the world doesn’t work that way-
no matter the direction you go,
there is always someone who is going to meet you halfway,
and if conditions are well-met,
then no force on Earth could ever drive you away.

When we build something from the ground up,
when we are there at the conception of something-
the essential DNA that binds and bolsters somethings existence forevermore;
to then one day see it lying at your feet in tatters,
is somethings that no one could ever prepare themselves for.

Buildings can be rebuilt;
over time a heart once broken can be mended, if not forgotten;
the death of one star will one day help and give rise to the birth of another-
life goes on and only in one direction,
we must embrace everything, and learn from every stutter.

Everything shines for a short time;
when we are born we are truly free to be and to do anything,
without a name, a past, or expectations;
but as we grow with the world everything changes,
and the choices of our lives become the stars of our constellations.

Everyone who has ever lived has been touched and guided
by a million people or more during their lifetime-
anyone who has ever picked up an instrument
and has ever stayed up until after midnight creating their opus,
completely oblivious of the time,
never forgets their first euphonically-inspired rhyme.

Everyone carries a torch throughout their lives
that was ignited at the very moment that they came into being,
everyone is the bearer of a great gift from the day that they are born
that goes beyond teaching, instinct, or feeling-
everyone is empowered with curiosity
the moment that they first open their eyes,
every child is in awe and secretly never forgets
the morning that they saw their first sunrise.

We are the most inspired and the most fearless in our lives
when we are a child-
when you are a kid everything is new, undiscovered, epic;
you can run a marathon everyday, and let your imagination go wild.

Everyone of us is a human-torch,
burning constantly and burning brightly
the invisible flame of a revitalizing blaze-
everyone of us has an imagination like that of an inferno
that can spread beyond our minds
and can manifest in many different and enlightening ways.

How we choose to use our light
and the direction that we decide to take our spark
varies infinitely from child to adult, from daughter to son-
musically, artistically, inspirationally, athletically-
by capturing others in their wake with wonder,
or by scoring a home-run.

Everyone who will ever live will touch and guide
the destinies of millions of people whom they will never meet
eons of years into the future-
every flame that has ever beaconed
will light the way of everything that has yet to occur.

Anyone who has ever written a song,
anyone who has ever imagined a story,
or who has ever looked up at the night-sky
and dreamed of something extraordinary from the comfort of their porch
is the beholder and the wielder on an energy so extraordinary
and so brilliant that they shine more incandescently
and more unbelievably than the stars above,
because they are an everlasting and an ever-burning torch.

Who am I? Who do I want to be?
If I were to think hard enough and for long enough,
could I make any identity my reality?
Does what we think of ourselves matter more to us than how others see us?
Does always playing the part written for us by the world
just lead us into losing our focus?

Words are important, what we say and write are an essential road-map;
emphasis, effort, and effectiveness,
are the linchpin of every conversation and can bridge any gap.

I am but a man, a gentleman,
who acts for others who are just like me-
I hold open doors, I take great interest in the well-being of a stranger,
I protect, defend, and help relieve others of their vulnerabilities;
but does that make me perfect, do I want to be perfect, am I perfect?
No.
However, I do believe that happiness and contentment
is meant and can be attained by all
if everyone were to let their intent and their feelings show.

When I write poetry I write not just for me,
but for everyone in the entire world-
no matter their birth, belief, education, or persuasion;
because such things may be the first rung on your life’s ladder,
but they are not the primer of your entire life equation.

I write about what I love, what motivates me, what I have felt and seen,
and also what I would give everything to see,
but what I do not need to see-
I write so that someday someone may read my poems
and be inspired to create their own work of art,
because that is exactly what happened to me.

What I have learned in my life thus far
is that because of the actions of the few and of the minority
sometimes things in life just don’t go the way of your expectations,
or to plan-
but that in the long-run it doesn’t matter;
as long as you stay resolute, true to what is you,
the model of a gentlewoman, or a gentleman.

A smile is one of the most complex,
one of the most extraordinary,
one of the most beautiful expressions of inner joy in all of nature,
a smile can enlighten a cloudy day or a moon-less night,
a smile can wash away your troubles,
and enrich you with a feeling to savor.
Your smile; your eyes;
your entire perfect face defies the laws of nature,
your cheeks, your nose, your chin,
could only be the masterpiece work of a divine artist or sculpture-
because every time I see your eyes glisten,
your nose scrunch, and your lips curl,
my heart feels like a volcano in my chest,
or a limitless abounding energy source from another world.

I only have to look at you and I am smiling from ear to ear,
I only have to gaze longingly at your photo
and I feel like I could smile for an entire day, a month, even a year.
The thought of you and the love that I feel for you
ratifies to me my purpose in life,
and instills in me a great and powerful peace
beyond any of my sweetest dreams-
since I first saw you I have felt that there is something special
about you that connects directly to the source of all beauty,
from where all inspiration streams.
I can no longer remember a time before I knew your name,
nor do I ever wish to-
now I know your name and your face so well,
if I were only able to think about one name and one face
for the rest of my life I would choose your name, and you.

You are more than life;
you are more than a muse;
you are more than an actress playing the role of herself
in her own life’s play-
you are an ever-burning sun who shines your everlasting light
over an unending and timeless day-
who is the closest that anyone will ever come to glimpsing heaven
while they still live,
and the time to get to know you anyone would give.

You are the only person on Earth whom I would ever describe as an Angel-
an Angel is a messenger of the divine,
and a bestower of something wonderful-
you are one of those most special of people
who inspires the best within others and gives their gift to the world
the reason to shine and release-
a gift as prized as the universe itself,
you give people, you give me,
hope, truth, and, most of all,
you give me peace.
