Since the overture of the universe,
all things have orbited everything because of attraction-
the elementary necessity, the reason for being, the cause for every reaction.
Since the origin of instinct,
all creation has perpetuated the need for one to connect with another-
the need to be understood, the need to grow, the need to come together.

Attraction is fundamental,
but the reason why things attract varies from culture, to country;
from person, to place-
what makes a pulse quicken, or a heart race, differs from species, to sex;
from mind, to face.

Physical attraction is often the allure,
but what follows next nearly always eclipses that first rush of blood-
if two people meet one another, and it is meant to be,
then that first look could be the drop to a life-changing and life-fulfilling flood.

Humanity yearns to be stimulated,
I belief it to be the greatest attraction of them all-
whether it be due to conversation, imagination,
or the feeling of connection with a masterpiece of art hanging from a wall.

When what started out as attraction evolves to become something more,
when attraction grows to become love-
you have no idea what emotions you will go through,
nor what your relationship will have in store.

Some things in life are elementary,
life would not be life without them-
for every thousand that you could do without,
there is always one that endures,
and that is the power of attraction.

People come into our lives for a reason, they come with a message;
people touch our lives, as we touch theirs, so that we all may learn,
accept, and be worthy of our right of passage.

The fortunate of humanity are born with the gift to change everything-
they are the recipients of love, knowledge, confidence, and inspiration,
that being given the best in life can bring.

There are those of our brethren, however, it appears
were deprived of a great many things during their formative years-
some who have grown up to believe that life is about chaos,
and about reflecting and inflicting onto others their deepest and darkest fears.

Not everybody is lucky in life, and no one is ever happy all of the time;
but when you are given the gift that only another person can give,
to not make the most of it, and to not be thankful for it, would be a crime.

First and foremost, I am thankful for my parents-
I am thankful for their love, their strength, for all that they are
and all that they have given me, without any pretense.

I am thankful for my family, my friends, my muse of infinite compassion,
belief, imagination, and vision-
the people whom I count as being the most important in my life,
the foundation of every decision.

I am thankful for Shakespeare, Lewis Carroll, for Stephen King, Tolkien,
and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle;
I am thankful for Gene Roddenberry, Steven Spielberg, for Joss Whedon,
Ricky Gervais, Stephen Fry, and JJ Abrams-
for continuing to inspire my imagination like an newly-sprung coil.

I am thankful for Johann Strauss II, Chopin, for Beethoven, and Mozart;
I am thankful for BT, Mike Oldfield, The Beatles, and John Lennon-
for every musician and singer who has touched my soul,
and whose music is a work of art.

For all that life has gifted me, and for all who have given me so much,
who I love for constantly inspiring me anew-
I would just like to say one thing: thank you!

To whom it may concern,
I hope this poem finds you happy, hopeful, and well,
as do I hope the world is treating you kindly, and is allowing you to excel.
The times in which we live in are always fraught with uncertainty,
no matter the direction we choose to walk
we will inevitably reach the shore to an unknown and trying sea;
but beyond the sea there always lies an island of familiarity,
an oasis of interest,
a home, a place, a person, to call your own- where, or with whom,
you can be yourself, and be at rest.
It is always being said that the world is becoming smaller
and that the mysteries of life are becoming less shrouded;
I, however, believe the opposite to be true
and that the story of all and everything is far from being read.

To whom it may concern,
I have always preferred to give, rather than to receive;
I have always sought someone, or something, to work towards,
attain, and believe.
I have been through numerous times of trial,
and of questioning my own worth;
however, with these tests of worthiness,
there always follows a reaffirmation, and an inspiration rebirth.

No one is perfect, I count myself as a shining example of that fact;
however, I do believe that everyone has a responsibility for their words,
their choices, and for how they act.
I believe that everyone who can should give to the world their energy,
their inspiration, their imagination, their “all”-
because alone we are small,
while together we all flourish and stand-tall.
